Iowa. Not impressed by the treatment of fans...
I went to the Iowa show...drove down from Minnesota just to see them because they weren't coming to my state/town. I was going to make the most of it and try to meet the guys. Well i showed up super early (7:30am) in hopes that my friend and i would be able to meet them before the show. I wanted to show the guys the tattoo i had gotten (the same GC tattoo they all have on the back of their left arm, only on my back) and finally meet them after being a fan for seven years. Well, not one of them would give my friend and i a second of their time, except Billy, but even he wasn't too happy to do it.
We drove all that way and waited for so long just to get an autograph and picture with each of them. Granted they had all just woken up, which i can understand, but there was only two of us waiting and it would have taken five minutes. All i was asking for was an autograph and picture...that's it.
After hearing Joel talk about how excited he was to get out there and talk to each and every fan i definitely wasn't expecting to just be brushed off the way i was. The way they all talk about how much they love their fans and how they owe it all to the fans...well i sure wasn't feeling the love.
It just really bummed me out that they were such jerks about it. Sorry guys, but i lost a little respect for you yesterday.
On another note, the show was amazing. We were front row. You still put on an amazing show guys! You still have a fan in me-just one that's quite disappointed.

Well they're only human. They're not going to be all full of sunshine and rainbows.
They just woke up, probably didn't even know they had people waiting. When I wake up, I'm a walking zombie for at least an hour and I don't know what I'm doing.

I remember hearing Flea from Red hot chili peppers saying that he was really tired and hungry one time. He was sitting in a restaurant getting ready to eat his meal and a fan came up to him and he totally went ballistic on her. He was so sorry afterwards but he said he was so hungry and had had a bad day and all he wanted to do is eat and it just set him off.
People are people. You have to understand.

After a show they are some of the nicest people I've ever met, every single time they've been sweethearts.
Before the show when they've just woken up, half the time they're trying to figure out where they Hell they are. Bands don't get a lot of sleep, a lot of times they don't even get onto the bus until midnight or later, if they have a short enough drive to have a hotel maybe 1am, provided they don't have any obligations. If not it's sleeping on the bus and waking up in another state sometimes.
This is without taking into account eating after the show, sometimes a shower before signing autographs (something I know Joel does regularly), and how many fans are out there. I've seen them out there at 2am before signing autographs for those who stuck around.
So noon is early for them, and I'd be kinda cranky too (and am kind of cranky when I get up for work). They'll wave and be polite and sometimes sign once they've woken up, but it's not as common.
I understand you being disappointed, but don't be discouraged.

lmao. I've been going to shows since '03 and still haven't met a single one of them. -shrug-
One of the bands I most adore, AFI (mainly Davey and Jade) get like that too though. It doesn't disappoint me, because they're just boys that have to wake up early and they work hard and they were probably just tired. there'll be another time.

I was at that show. I met the guys too, ok just Joel and Paul, only when I met them they were nice, except Benji. He was in a bad mood I guess.. But I also met them in the afternoon, I'd say around 4. I'm sorry about your luck :(

Sorry that you didn't get a chance to meet or talk to them. What others said about it being early and them being human and what not...I would tend to agree with them. Also Joel hurt his back, and perhaps they just wanted to wake up and get some coffee or just have some down time. Sorry for you though that you didn't have the opportunity. But they are super nice to their fans and ususally they are as sweet as can be. Perhaps they are grumps first thing after waking up! A lot of men are. ;) They need their coffee to function. lol

Stuff happens!!! Iam sure there was a good reason for what happend. Think about it, your not the only one that loves G.C. and sometimes it got to be hard for them. I spend ALOT of time alone, and they most likly don't get much and Joel had to go on tour with his new baby at home! (That had to be hard!) Put yourself in there shoe's and don't let what happend bum you out after all it is a job for them and they would love some alone time. The show I went to Billy never came out but he was with his wife so I understood why. ( we saw them get on the bus) Paul was a sweet heart and I cried like a little girl and Iam 37!!!

I have met Paul. He is a cuddly guy and full of awesomeness to say the least. Yes. Just because being a well known artist is exciting, it doesn't mean it doesn't get exhausting. It's more that a full time job. You work all the time

This is a difficult situation for everyone. I know you're not feeling too good about it and I know Good Charlotte just got up. I'm usually not great in the morning. Music, playing shows and inspiring fans is something I'm as passionate about as the Good Charlotte guys. However, they do this frequently and they got used to it, so they may not be excited every day, especially in the morning. As fans, we go far to get a good experience out of shows and we don't go to them every day as a job, so it's a little different to us. I know they feel that way about their fans and they know how important their fans are, but they just need a reminder once in a while because it's been a long time since they played small shows in Maryland and had to try so hard to earn people's respect. I think someone needs to remind them of that, but nonetheless, we'll still be loyal and we'll still represent
Also, I think those blond sluts are getting into their brains and I'm not liking it. These brats are full of it. I'll be blunt about that
